How some people make it through life in Torrance?! I tell you! Uncertain times!! Scary times!!! The sky is falling!! I better climb into a South Bay hole!

 Well, if you want to climb into a hole, be my guest. But, don’t periodically poke your head out and make life difficult for those of us who choose to work our way through these times.

 My frustration comes from a now former client who entered with me into three escrows in the past four months…then withdrew on trumped-up claims. I know you are thinking “well, fool me twice, shame on me”…well each time she convinced me that the reason for her change of plans was something to do with someone else. Finally, today at La Terrazza, 2801 Sepulveda Blvd in Torrance, she could hide it no longer and had to admit to an overwhelming fear of commitment in these financially turbulent times. Well, my goodness, girl “get a grip”!

 Times are different than they were just 18 months ago, to be sure. Buyers have to shop aggressively to get rock bottom prices on good homes in great locations. My buyer clients are taking, on average 7 months to make a purchase, twice the average in 2007. Also, the average buyer client is making three offers before sealing a deal.

 That’s what a “buyer’s market” looks like! You are in charge! You’re king of the South Bay real estate world! That does not mean it’s time to be afraid…it means it’s time to be encouraged and tough!
